..Read the full post..The Dawn Collectiv, who self proclaim they are 'a collective of artists who share a likeminded dreams and aspirations' - have put together a sweet video that can be used to explain the madness that was The Upbeats 'Primitive Techniques' Album tour. This particular video came from the Christchurch event that was put on by Bass Freaks. Nice work all involved.

I recall when this mix came out, it was a huge deal for NZ drum and bass, because we got one of the biggest NZ DJs to have a mix with fresh and relevant tunes on the cover of a very popular Dance music magazine. I particulary remember going into the local barbers and hearing this play as the first time I had heard DnB of this sort outside of a club. Read on for the link and biggups a legend, 48 Sonic!

This is a brilliant doco on people who are still involved in cutting vinyl over in Europe, produced by PZ (James Meharry).
While this was posted on the forums a couple of weeks ago, I've been playing it nearly every day since I grabbed it. Crazy mix of tunes from various genres, all 100% vinyl mixed. Nice one Taiko.

For Rhys Grosvenor, aka DJ Static, Rumble in the Jungle had always been a case of always being the bridesmaid, but never the bride. It would be easy to forgive him for never entering the competition again. In 2012 however, he put all that behind him on Saturday, 15 September at the San Francisco Bath House, and he immortalised his name as winner of the Rumble trophy for 2012. He beat out nine other champions in what was a tough competition.
